Overview

The Loan Closing Control Administrator is responsible to ensure Attorney Documented Loans are done in accordance with Attorney guidelines and that all correct lien positions are achieved. A thorough understanding is required of Johnson Bank loan policies and procedures, title commitments, the various title endorsements and final title policies, UCC liens and searches and other collateral which secures the loan transaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Position Specific Responsibilities

  • Pre-Close and Post-Close review of all Attorney Prepared Loans.
  • Ensures that all Commercial Loans (extensions, modifications, and renewals) are documented according to the approved credit presentation in accordance with the Bank's loan policy and are in compliance with applicable banking regulations as well as any other requirements designated by the credit approval authority.
  • Review all Title Commitments to ensure Lien Position is correct pre approval, determine whether any payoffs are needed prior to closing; review all Pro-Forma ALTA Policies confirming market's request for Survey Endorsements, ensure other Endorsements required are correct and received prior to closing and review all Final Title Policies to ensure correct lien position is documented.
  • Review UCC searches and other collateral perfections to ensure its satisfactory and does not contain exceptions that are unacceptable to the bank.
  • Maintain knowledge of commercial loan documentation requirements and remain current on all pending and proposed state and federal regulatory changes impacting commercial lending.
  • Review all Attorney Certification Letters for Red Flags and to ensure Attorney followed appropriate Guidelines.
  • Complete Attorney Boarding Form for boarding loan-to-loan system and ensure all ticklers are set up for follow-up and any/all checklists completed
  • Maintain Attorney Prep Guidelines and Instructions.
  • Review any pay-off letters on all New Money transactions to ensure narrative captures all prior liens and correct payoffs per approved LP.
  • Back up to Pre-Close on all internally prepared documents for Commercial and Consumer Loans. Knowledge of Commercial and Consumer Loan Documentation is essential.
  • Perform Audits on Commercial Loans Boarded to IBS - reviewing all manual entered fields for accuracy and loan system matches Promissory Note and any supporting documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Paralegal Degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Loan Documents, specifically Attorney Loan Documentation
  • Must demonstrate a full understanding of Commercial Loan Documentation including Attorney prepared loan documents, participations and multi agent bank loans
  • Demonstrates leadership, acts as a role model and resource for less experience team members
  • Demonstrates the ability to think independently and able to assume additional responsibilities with minimal guidance
  • Advanced PC skills including all Microsoft Office applications
  • Requires the ability to effectively research and solve problems independently
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and be able to function in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills required
  • Must be self-motivated as well as appreciate working in a team environment
