Job Description
Summary
Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant performs various accounting duties in accordance with company and established accounting policies and procedures for Coakley Brothers Company. The position will have a strong emphasis on Accounts Payable duties to include process improvements and efficiencies within our ERP system, BC-365 along with potential growth and development to other areas of emphasis within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
  1. Process and record supplier invoices verifying against purchase orders and obtaining approvals.
  2. Perform all AP duties associated with month-end closing procedures to include reconciling accounts payable trial balance reports to the general ledger.
  3. Weekly payment processing for supplier invoices.
  4. Reconciliations for AMEX, Visa, and Mastercard monthly accounts.
  5. Responsible for 1099s annually.
  6. Update and maintain supplier databases with supplier forms, W9s, and COIs.
  7. Reconcile Stadium Self Storage monthly transactional activity
  8. Expense reports.
  9. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  10. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.

  • Minimum of two year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field and one year of relevant  payables, bookkeeping, accounting and/or financial experience

Ability to read and interpret documents such as invoices, bank deposit slips, procedure manuals, and various documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Requires effective communication with customers and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.  Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities
Requires the ability to operate a wide variety of standard office equipment, such as a computer and keyboard, a calculator, telephone, fax, photocopier, etc.
