Position Responsibilities:

  • Interview consumer loan applicants and provide information on loan products that best meets the member's needs; complete applications, gathering required supporting documentation; obtain and evaluate credit reports, calculate debt-to-income ratios, evaluate collateral requirements and proposed collateral values in order to evaluate strength and weaknesses of loan applicants; make recommendations to approve/decline products for members.

  • Correspond with members, applicants and creditors to resolve questions regarding application information; recommend and outline terms of loan within Credit Union's policies and procedures; complete all required steps to finalize approved applications and prepare request to send for signing.

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of mortgage products and utilize each opportunity to generate mortgage business.

  • Responsible for developing additional business by promoting credit union products and services through building and maintaining strong member relationships including making outbound sales calls.

  • Educates team members on new or existing products and services; monitors industry changes and advises branch manager of needed changes.

  • Promptly and accurately assists members at the counter, drive-up, digitally, phone or via mail correspondence with all financial transactions, including troubleshooting as necessary, while keeping information in the strictest confidence.

  • Solve members service issues and find solutions for complex maintenance issues.

  • Identify and render the best service possible to all members including the ability to interact with other departments within the organization to answer questions.

  • Take initiative for your personal development and stay informed of all credit union products and services as they relate to your role.

  • Provide leadership to colleagues with systems overrides and leading opening and closing procedures of branches.

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is Required.

  • 3+ years of prior work experience in sales or customer service Required.

  • Evidence of excellent verbal communication skills along with an outgoing personality that demonstrates a positive, friendly and energetic attitude.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and to be entrusted with the handling of confidential and personal matters.

  • Ability to problem solve and use independent judgment.

  • Proficient keyboarding and 10- key calculator skills, along with the knowledge and ability to efficiently navigate among numerous computer systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player, with willingness to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
