In this role, the Continuous Improvement Manager will be responsible for using Lean Six Sigma methodology to drive operational process improvements.

This position will identify, develop, and execute Lean Six Sigma events at the plant. The Continuous Improvement Manager will provide mentoring, coaching, and training as needed at the plant to support the use of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Science or related field
  • 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Lean certification and/or Six Sigma belt
  • Experience facilitating Kaizen sessions
  • Past experience implementing a corporate-wide Operational Excellence initiative

Essential responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities in productivity, material consumption, other operation expenses, quality, safety, and space utilization by leading Kaizen Events, 5S, Kanban, Root Cause Analysis, and other CI efforts.
  • Develop and maintain both short and long-term Continuous Improvement Strategy.
  • Act as a change agent, systematically driving the use of Lean Six Sigma for continuous improvement and change throughout the plant.
  • Identify and deploy Lean Six Sigma best practices within the plant and across benchmark facilities, actively develop and improve the focus improvement function and discipline by sharing best practices and projects with peers at other sites.
  • Coaches and mentors' employees on the practical application of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma tools, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, communicates, and implements key metrics to monitor progress and effectiveness of process improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for managing plant data to identify impactful business opportunities and drive OEE performance.
  • Serve as a Power User for the SAP system.
  • Key member of plant safety steering committee primarily focused on identifying risk reduction opportunities; leading teams; and ownership of a safety audit section.
  • Act as a liaison with Corporate on the OpEx Network Strategy.

Job Complexity:

  • Extensive use of advanced problem solving and troubleshooting to significantly impact plant improvement projects and action plans.
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.
  • Interface with and influence multiple functions and at multiple organization levels, both at the plant and corporate.
  • Ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence both hourly and salaried employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative.
  • Requires high level of plant floor presence to establish extensive knowledge of processes and opportunities for improvement. Engaging employees at all levels in identifying solutions.
  • Must be able to present relatively complex continuous improvement concepts effectively to diverse groups ranging from hourly production employees to leadership team members.
  • Utilize lean concepts and methodologies, evaluate their application, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • We are looking for the following abilities and skills:

Direct experience successfully leading and implementing process improvement initiatives utilizing the following concepts and techniques.

  • Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Six Sigma tools.
  • Visual Factory / 5S programs.
  • Certification or equivalent training and experience as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • Visual factory / 5S programs.
  • Ability to lead large-scale, continuous improvement/organizational change initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with experience in training development and deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Drive for results.

Working Conditions:

  • The working environment includes both office and plant floor settings.
  • Exposure to industrial noise, forklift traffic, moving mechanical parts, and temperature extremes occurs in operating areas of the plant.
  • Anticipated travel of up to 5% to other Campbell's Snacks production facilities, offices, vendors and/or co-manufacturers.

OPEX Manager (Individual Contributor - may have 1 direct report)

- Leads OpEx programs across sites of medium size & complexity (Hanover, Franklin, Richmond, Tualatin, Jeffersonville, Beloit, Lakeland, Bloomfield, Salem, Goodyear, Downers Grove & Downingtown)
- Leads site leadership teams to implement OpEx program (8-10 pillars)
- Leads cross functional experts to solve complex problems
- Trains all levels of the organization on CI tools and techniques
- CI Certification (e.g. six sigma black belt) or working towards
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years manufacturing experience preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$85,900-$140,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
